Plug-and-play epi lighting modules for G BOX gel imaging systems
Syngene now offers an advanced lighting system for their G:BOX gel imaging product line that incorporates a range of modular epi illumination sources for the excitation of an extensive selection of commercially available dyes. The new epi lighting system offers the following modules:
White light
All new G:BOX systems will now be factory-fitted as standard with an integral epi white light LED lighting system. The dual 8 LED assemblies are fixed either side of the darkroom and are positioned to give bright, even illumination over a 25cm x 30cm area. This module cannot be field-fitted.
Ultraviolet light
This optional module can be fitted with 365nm, 302nm or 254nm UV lighting (one tube of the same wavelength on either side of the darkroom). As an alternative a UV tube of one of these wavelengths can be fitted on one side of the darkroom and one tube of another of these wavelengths can be fitted on the other side. The UV lighting modules are fitted above the white light modules (please see below) and illuminate an area of 25cm x 30cm. The UV module can be field-fitted by a competent engineer.
Red, green and blue (RGB) modules
The introduction of Syngene's unique LED "plug and play" lighting systems for new G:BOX systems will now allow a user to select only those wavelength modules that they require for their specific application(s). Each lighting module emits a specific colour and is matched with a dedicated filter. The modules simply plug into a lighting gantry (optional extra) which is situated below the white light fixture in the darkroom. Once plugged into the gantry the module is automatically registered by
Syngene's new GeneSys darkroom control and image acquisition software. Up to 4 modules can be plugged into the lighting gantry on each side of the darkroom. It is possible to fit identical modules to increase intensity or to use a number of modules with different wavelengths. Modules are normally fitted in matched pairs with one on either side of the darkroom.
There are seven different modules to choose from. Modules denoted with an (M) are specifically designed for imaging samples stained with multiple dyes (multiplexing).
