| Eddy Jet 2 for spiral plating of bacterial colonies
Key Features:
- No use of bleach or requirement for a vacuum pump increases lab productivity
- Uses disposable irradiated microsyringes to prevent cross contamination and to ensure true sampling sterility
- No down time during dispense tip washing cycles
- Ease of use and programming through colour touch screen with intuitive icon operation
- Reliable and robust design for years of operation
The Eddy Jet 2 offers significant savings in material costs and workers' time. Spiral plates are processed in well under 1 minute. There are no time-consuming wash cycles and there is no requirement to prepare and replace wash solutions. No vacuum pump is required so no time is wasted on pump maintenance or lost as a result of vacuum failure.
The Eddy Jet 2 spiral plater utilizes
patented gamma-irradiated disposable micro-syringes for spiral
inoculation. A new microsyringe is inserted from a cartridge pack (shown above) for each new sample in order to reduce the risk of cross-contamination and the need for a vacuum
source or washing steps.
The Eddy Jet 2 lays down sample in an
exponential or logarithmic decreasing manner from the centre to the
periphery in an Archimedean spiral. Once incubated, the Petri dish shows a distribution of
colonies that are smaller and more crowded in the centre and larger and
less crowded towards the periphery. The unit is fully programmable through a colour touch screen and
has bar code compatibility.
